Our historic village hall was once a factory in East London before a local villager acquired the building frame and transported it to Doddinghurst, where members of the community got together to erect it in its current position.

Built by the community, for the community, it has hosted many memorable events throughout the years and is currently maintained by volunteers to ensure it continues to provide a community service for years to come.

Amenities

After undergoing a complete refurbishment in 2018 and new floor installation in 2021, our hall provides the perfect backdrop to any event.

Amenities include:

• A full kitchen with electric oven, electric hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and crockery

• Tables including:

  • 18 number measuring 4 ft x 2.5ft

  • 17 number measuring 5 ft x 2.5ft

• 120 chairs

• Male and female toilets plus unisex disabled toilet

• Contained garden area, backing onto the public fields

• Fully equipped stage 

• 64 car parking spaces plus signed dedicated disabled spaces

Additional amenities that can be provided on request include: 

• Fully stocked staffed bar 

• Projector

USAGE

There really is not much that hasn’t been hosted in the hall before, we can accommodate most events. In the past these have included:

• Music shows/Concerts

• Film screenings 

• Children’s birthday parties with soft play (no internal bouncy castles permitted) 

• Adult birthday parties 

• Dance classes 

• Diet clubs - Slimming World etc 

• Tea dances

• Quiz nights

• Wedding receptions 

• Charity events 

• Scout/Guide groups 

• AGM’s/business meetings 

Hours

Currently the hall operating hours are 8am until 11pm, Monday to Sunday. We have many regular hirers so please contact us for availability.
